UPSC does not conduct any separate exam for dentists like UPSC conducts combined medical services exam for MBBS course But UPSC recruits dentists for central govt. dental colleges and recruitment is based on available vacancies in different govt. dental colleges. UPSC generally recruit the dentist for the post of Public Health Dentist Public Health Dentist Post Eligibility – Age -Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. -Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Castes candidates in post reserved for them. -Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. -Government Servant upto five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s) -A Degree qualification included in part I or part II of the Schedule to the Dentist’s Act, 1948, - Should be registered with the Dental Council. Experience -2 years experience of Dental work in a hospital or in private practice.

There is an UPSC CMS (Combined Medical Services) Exam but it is only for MBBS graduate. You can try your luck in IAS exams that which is conducted by UPSC Exam as you are eligible for that. To become IAS or Indian Administrative Services Officer you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination (CSE). The exam is conducted by UPSC every year into 2 stages : >> Preliminary examination >> Main examination. To apply for the examination, you have to complete your Graduate degree course first and then you are eligible to apply for UPSC CSE. Graduation is the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the examination. Final year graduate candidates are also applying for this examination. So, If you have completed your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognized University, then you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services examination. Thus , if your are BDS graduate or about to complete your internship or you are doing MDS or completed MDS, then you are eligible to apply for all government UPSC exams& civil service exams. Age Criteria Exams A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the upper age of 30 years may apply for the civil service examination to choose IAS, IPS and IFS among others. Paper Pattern for Civil Service Exams The competitive examination comprises two successive stages: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Main Examination Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts
