As a Graduate/ Engineer, you can apply for the Flying branch through the Air Force Academy. The following are the three modes of entry for Graduates/ Engineers to join the Flying branch: CDSE (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION) (FOR MEN ONLY) You can enter through this mode of entry and will get a Permanent Commission. Eligibility criteria: - Your Age must be in between 19 to 23 years (at the time of commencement of course) - You must be Indian - Your Marital Status should be Single - You must hold Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) / BE / B Tech (Four Year Course). -No Percentage Bar for CDSE entry. NCC SPECIAL ENTRY (FOR MEN ONLY) Men can join the Air Force through this mode of entry and will be given a Permanent Commission. Eligibility criteria: - Your Age must be in between 19 to 23 years (at the time of commencement of course) - Your Nationality must be Indian - Your Marital Status must be Single - You should possess Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level OR You must hold BE / B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate SSC (SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION ) ENTRY( FOR MEN AND WOMEN) You can apply through AFCAT for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch. Eligibility criteria: -Your Age must be in between 19 to 23 years (at the time of commencement of course). -Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 25 years(at the time of commencement of course). - Your Nationality must be Indian - Your Marital Status must be Single - You must hold Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers

The following are the three modes of entry to join the Flying branch: NDA (National Defence Academy) For admission to NDA you have to initially pass the written exam Conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam is conducted twice in a year. Age – 16½ to 19½ years at the time when course commences Gender - Male Educational Qualifications – 10+2 With Mathematics and Physics. Final year students can also apply. CDSE (Combined Defence Services Examination) – For Graduates/ Engineers deciding to join the flying branch of IAF can apply through CDSE. Age – 19 to 23 years the time when course commences Educational Qualifications – 1. Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) / BE / B Tech (Four Year Course). 2. Final Year/semester students can also apply. 3. No Percentage Bar for CDSE entry. SSC (Short Service Commission) – You can apply for Short Service Commission which extends for a Maximum of 14 years of service through AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) Age – 19 to 23 years and 25 years for those holding Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA Educational Qualifications – 1. Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers OR BE / B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together. 2. Final Year students are also eligible to apply
