The application filing period is for fall 2015 is now closed now in University of California. For Fall 2015 Admission dates were: August 1, 2014 - UC application open to edit for fall 2015 admission and scholarships. September 1-30, 2014 - TAG application submission period for fall 2015 admission. October 1, 2014 - Online Nursing Science supplemental application opens. November 1-30, 2014 - UC priority application filing period for fall 2015 admission and scholarships. Application must be filed no later than November 30 at ucal.us/apply. December, 2014 - Last opportunity for freshmen applicants to take the SAT or ACT Plus Writing tests. March 1-31, 2015 - UC Irvine notifies freshmen applicants of their admission status via the MyAdmission account. March 2, 2015 - Priority deadline for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and GPA verification form for Cal Grant consideration. April 1-30, 2015 - UC Irvine notifies transfer applicants of their admission status via the MyAdmission account. May 1, 2015 - Freshman Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) due. - Priority deadline for UCI to receive all required supporting documents to complete students' financial aid applications. - Housing applications due for freshmen. June 1, 2015 - Transfer Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) due. - Housing applications due for transfer students. Freshman Admission The University of California considers one a freshman applicant if one is still in high school or has graduated from high school but has not register in a regular session at any college or university. To be eligible for admission to UC Irvine one needs to satisfy the GPA, “a - g,” and examination requirements. GPA REQUIREMENT One must receive a 3.0 GPA or higher in the required “a – g” subjects during grades 10 and 11. If one is a non-California resident, one needs to have a minimum 3.4 GPA in order to be eligible for the UC System; all other requirements for admission are the same as for California residents. A – G REQUIREMENTS The “a - g” requirements, also called Academic Subject Requirements, represent the minimum academic preparation freshmen applicants must meet to be eligible for admission to the University of California. There are 7 subject areas included in the “a – g” requirements, each with a minimum number of years of required study. Meeting these minimum “a – g” requirements does not guarantee admission to UCI. A. 2 years of History/Social Science • One year of world history, cultures and geography • One year of U.S. history OR a semester of U.S. history and a semester of American government/civics B. 4 years of English C. 3 years of Mathematics (4 years recommended) • Must include algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra D. 2 years of Laboratory Science (3 years recommended) • Must include two of these three subjects: biology, chemistry, and physics E. 2 years of Language other than English (3 years recommended) • The second year or higher of the same language must be completed to fulfill this requirement F. 1 year of Visual and Performing Arts • Both courses must be from the same discipline (dance, drama/theater, music or visual arts) G. 1 year of College Preparatory Electives
