The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) has granted Deemed to be University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. IIST offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programmes in three branches, namely B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 60 B.Tech. in Avionics: 60 B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 36 Admission Procedure of B.Tech Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology - IIST does not conduct its own entrance examination. Institute use the JEE MAIN as the entrance examination for admission under graduate engineering programmes Admission criteria: You must be Indian Citizens only You should have valid percentage of marks in JEE Advanced 2013. You must have good position in the All India rank list of JEE MAIN 2013 as prepared by the CBSE. You should have passed their Qualifying Examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum. The qualifying examination should be any of the following: - Final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Board of India - Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University. - Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy. - Vocational Higher Secondary Examination. - Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. - Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology B.Tech admission details are as given below: Eligibility: Only Indian citizens can apply The Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. An aggregate of minimum 70% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) is required for general as well as OBC categories (60% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD). Selection Procedure: The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance and rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), which is conducted by IITs.
