Banner Officer Naval Aviation (FONA) at Goa seems to coordinate the field operations of the air arm. FONA likewise serves as the Navy's Flag Officer Goa Area (FOGA).

History

Plane carrying warship INS Vikrant (R11) dispatching an Alize amid the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. The main maritime air station, INS Garuda, was initiated in Cochin on 11 May 1953.This ran as one with the dispatching of the No.550 Squadron, using Short Sealand flying machine and Fairey Firefly air ship.
