Well to become an IPS officer, you need to appear and crack the IPS entrance exam which is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of candidates into the Indian police service. IPS Exam Eligibility: Qualification- -You should hold graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India Age-- -You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services Exam form and not more than 30 years of age. Special Physical Requirements: Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D Total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D Structure of the IPS Entrance Exam -The IPS exam will have two parts. -They are the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination. -The preliminary will comprise of two papers: The general studies paper – This paper will carry 150 marks. CSAT -The Main Examination will comprise of the following papers. Paper I - One Indian language – This will carry 300 marks Paper II – English – This will carry 300 marks Paper III – Essay- This will carry 200 marks Paper IV&V - General Studies - This will carry 300 marks Paper VI-IX - Any two optional subjects – Each paper will carry 300 marks Each of these papers will have duration of 3 hours. Key Dates: Civil services (preliminary) exam, 2014 Date of commencement of exam:- 24.08.2014 (sunday) Civil services (main) exam., 2014 Date of commencement of exam:- 14.12.2014 (sunday)

As per your request here I am providing you the details of the entire IPS Officer exam. Please find the below attached details: Education qualification Candidate must have completed Graduation in any stream. Candidate who are in last year of Graduation are also eligible. Candidate’s degree can be from any UGC approved University or any state University. Age Limit Age must be between 21 to 32 for General category. Candidates of SC/ST and OBC will get extra age 5 and 3 years respectively. Physical Standards Height : Minimum height for Males 165 CM ,Females-150CM for General Category Candidates.
