Sorry, you are not eligible for the IAS exam. The minimum qualification required for becoming an IAS officer is graduation. To become an IAS officer candidate has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year. Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must be Indian Citizen. Interested candidates must have a graduation degree in any stream. Age of the general candidate should be between - 21 to 30 years. Age of the OBC candidate should be between - 21 to 33 years. Age of the SC/ST candidate should be between - 21 to 35 years. Number of Attempts: General - 4 OBC - 7 SC/ST - No Limit Selection Procedure: The selection is through three phases:- CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam Civil Service Main Exam Personal Interview

To be an IAS officer one has to follow the steps given below:- Step 1 You have to fill the UPSC's Civil Services exam “Application Form” along with “Information Brochure” from any of the “Head Post Offices or Post Offices” spread throughout the country and then send the filled Application form to: The Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi - 110011. Step 2 The aspirants in the month of May or June have to take the Civil Services Apptitue Test i.e CSAT Consisting of two papers. Paper Marks Time 1. General Knowledge 200 2 Hr. 2. Comprehension and logical reasoning 200 2 Hr. Step 3 Candidates who qualified in the “Civil Services Apptitude Test" are supposed to take the final exam (generally held in the month of October) having following papers: 1 Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks) 1 English Qualifying Paper (300 marks) 1 General Essay type paper (200 marks) 2 General Studies papers (300 marks each) 4 Optional subjects papers (300 marks each) Step 4 The final stage is the interview. The final stage test aspirant’s personality and mental ability. Selected candidates are admitted to Lal Bahadur Sastri National Academy of Administration, LBSNAA at Mussoorie to impart training to IAS probationers. And after completion of training in various fields of administrative importance, aspirants are posted as per requirements of the Central and State Governments. Indian Administrative Service Officer examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). To become an IAS officer the applicant should fulfill following eligibility details: Eligibility: The applicant should hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India. Nationality A candidate must be either:— A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan, or A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Age Limits A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years.
