Yes Computer Science engineering student can apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam as its eligibility states that you must have an Engineering degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central Government or State Legislature in India. IES Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is a combined four-stage competitive examination (comprising 6 tests) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: You must be either A Indian Citizen or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetan refugee who made India is his/her permanent base before January 1st, 1962. A person or applicants of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Vietnam, Ethiopia are also eligible Age Limit: -You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years Upper Age Limit Relaxation— -The upper age limit of 30 years will be relaxable up to 35 years in the case of Government Servants. -Up to maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. -3 years in case of candidates belonging to OBC. -5 years if candidates had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the perod from the 01-01-1980-31-12-1989. - Up to 5 years in case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCO who have rendeted at least five years Military Service. - Up to maximum of 10 years in the case of deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons. - Up to maximum of three years in case of Defence Service Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequences therof. Educational requirements or qualifications: - You must have an Engineering degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central Government or State Legislature in India. OR - You must have passed section A & B of the institutes or University examination. The applicants must have passed a Graduate Membership examination of the institute of electronic and Telecommunication of India OR -Obtained a degree/ diploma in Engineering from such foreign institute/ university & under such condition as may be recognizable in the eye of Government for purpose from time to time OR -Passed Associate Membership examination part II and III/ Sections A and B of Aeronautical society of India OR -Passed graduate Membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London
