I am third year Computer Science Engineering student; please tell me can I appear for IES or Indian Engineering Services exam??? Sorry to say, but Computer Science Engineering 3rd Year Student can not Give IES exam, bocz final year student eligible for IES but from following particular branch: Civil Mechanical Electrical Electronics and communication IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination. Eligibility; Only B-Tech / BE OR M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject applicants are applicable for IES exam. But you should write your degree exam in below departments: 1. Civil Engineering 2. Electrical Engineering 3. Mechanical engineering. 4. Electronics and Communication Engineering. The applicant age should be between 21 yrs to 30 yrs. Scheme of exam: There shall be objective type questions to be answered in the given time frame for section I of the paper. The candidates should attempt essay type questions of the section II from the core subjects in English language only. The candidates are required to prepare as per the syllabus of the qualifying degree exam: B.Tech/ B.E. for clearing the concerned UPSC Exam. Sorry to inform you that you can't sit for the IES exam as this exam is only for four engineering branches which are: Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communications, Electrical Computer science students are not eligible to apply for this exam. IES or Indian Engineering Services exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates in Government services. IES exam Eligibility -You should have to passed Engineering degree from a well recognized University Or You have to passed Section A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) -You must be either: A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan -Age limit: Minimum age : 21 year Maximum age : 30 year
