Yes, a computer science engineer is eligible for a job in Railways. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) organizes various recruitments for Computer science engineers.

Railway Recruitment Board holds the railway exams for railway recruitment in every year. You can apply for this exam. The applicants can get good job opportunities from railway vacancies offered by the Railway Recruitment Board.

You can work in the Technical Cadre of Railway department as:
Junior Engineer
System Engineer
Section Engineer

I completed Computer Science engineering and want to join Indian Railway. Will you tell is I am eligibility to join Indian railways also tell which posts I can join and criteria to apply?

Indian Railway is an Indian state-owned enterprise, owned and operated by the Government of India through the Ministry of Railways.

There are too many career opportunities available for Computer Science Students in Indian Railways.

Like -

Communication department.
Account section.
Ticket counter section.
Controlling section.
Junior Accounts Assistant (JAA)
Enquiry Cum Reservation Clerk (ECRC)
Telecommunication engineer.
Sr.section engineers.
Sr system analyst
Jr. Executive

Eligibility Criteria:

Junior Engineer: Diploma/ Degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines prescribed against various posts in Annexure-A of the detailed CEN to be published on the websites of RRBs.

Depot Material Superintendent: Diploma/ Degree in Engineering from any discipline.

Junior Engineer (Information Technology): PGDCA/ B.Sc., (Computer Science)/ BCA/ B.Tech. (Information Technology)/ B.Tech. (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ Level Course of 3 years duration or equivalent from recognised university/institute.

Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant: Bachelors Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with minimum of 45% marks.

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Selection Process:

Stage of Examination:

There shall be two-stage computer-based test (CBT) followed by document verification and medical examination.

Medical Standards: Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed medical standards for the post(s) they are opting for.
