Yes you can join IIST for admission in B tech course after passing 12th grade ..
The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is a government aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, located at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Course offered :
B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Avionics: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 36 seats

Eligibility :
You have to passed 12th grade with physics , chemistry and mathematics subjects and you must obtained at least 60% marks in PCM subjects in the qualifying examination.

To join B.Tech Programmes in IIST must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),
Or
you have to passed entrance examination of IIST with good marks…

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology is a government aided institute and deemed university located at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was established in 2007.

B.Tech. Programmes

IIST currently offers B.Tech programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics and Physical Sciences.

B.Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) :

It is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme oriented towards the needs of space technology.

People with B.Tech. degree in Aerospace Engineering can further specialize in Flight Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermal and Propulsion, Structure and Design, and Manufacturing Science.

B.Tech. (Avionics) :

It is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme comprising of subjects of study in Electronics and Communications Engineering programmes,

People with B.Tech degree in Avionics can later specialize in areas like DSP, RF & Communication, Antenna, Power Electronics, Micro Electronics, Control Systems etc.

B.Tech. (Physical Sciences) :

It is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme oriented towards application of basic sciences in Space Science and Technology.

People with B.Tech degree in Physical Sciences can later specialize in areas like Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Solid Earth Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & GIS, and Chemical Systems.

Seats

The total number of seats for the undergraduate programmes in IIST is 156.

The branch-wise distribution of seats is as follows:

B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Avionics: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 36 seats

Reservation of Seats

Seats are reserved for certain category as per applicable rules of the Government of India. Categories included are:

Scheduled Castes (SC).
Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL).

Admissions to IIST’s B.Tech Programme -2015 -

For admission in B.Tech candidate must have to appear in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2015 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and also qualify Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2015 conducted by IITs.

General Candidates (GEN):

At least 20% marks in aggregate and at least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

Other Backward Community – Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) Candidates:
At least 18% marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics).

Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe(ST) & Persons with Disabilities(PD) Candidates:

At least 10% marks in aggregate and at least 2.5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics Chemistry and Mathematics)
