CA (Chartered Accountancy) is a professional course, in the order to become CA (Chartered Accountancy) you have to pass XII standard. I would suggest you to pass XII Standard in commerce stream, it will give you advantage while pursuing the CA course. Ok, you want to do CA course after 12th so there are three levels to complete CA course i.e CPT Exam Intermediate course Final course Firstly you have to appear for CPT exam. CPT exam eligibility- After 10+2 examination. The examination is generally being conducted on second Sunday of June and December of every year in physical mode across India. You need to score 30% marks in each subject and 50% of total marks to pass CPT exam. CPT is an objective type examination of 200 questions with 1 mark each. It has four subjects for study. There is negative marking of 25% for wrong answers. After clearing CPT exam you have to appear in Intermediate Course. Intermediate Course : The Intermediate Course comprises of eight subjects divided in two groups. Group I comprises of four Subjects Group II of three subjects. Eligibility- Category A: Student who has passed CPT and 10+2 examination Category B: Graduate or Post Graduate from Commerce / Non Commerce stream exempted from CPT as above. Passing Criteria : You needs to secure 40% marks in individual subjects and aggregate of 50% in order to pass the Intermediate Examination. Level Three: Final Course CA Final comprises of Eight subjects divided in Two Groups with Four subjects each. A student can appear for the final examination only after passing both groups of the Intermediate Course and completion of 2,5 years Articleship.
