I get very good score in GATE so I want to apply for GATE scholarship so tell me about GATE Scholarship?

To receive the GATE scholarship the eligibility criteria is mention below.

The candidate should qualified for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and he has to secure admission in an Indian university or Institutes of Science & technology. The
Rules and regulation of scholarship is depend on admission giving institution.

ME/ MTech/ MArch/ MPharm: 2 years
PhD: 4 years

Amount of the scholarship.


Course Value
ME/ MTech/ MArch/ MPharm: Rs.5000 pm
PhD : With MTech Rs.9500 pm
Without MTech Rs.8000 pm

Contingency Grant ME/ MTech/ MArch/ MPharm: A maximum of Rs.5000 pa
PhD: A maximum of Rs.20000 pa

Notification & Deadline of GATE is advertised in July, September
The deadline for the GATE is in October

hello, i am Mtech second year student. i got my 1st year gate stipend. now i am having 2backlogs in second semester. so my college is not allowing me to send the proposal of second year stipend. is there any rule of AICTE that if any student is having atkt in 1st year, he wont be able to get stipend for second year?? plz guide me.. and i am stil doing assistant lecturership.

CURRENTLY I AM WORKING IN A COMPANY AND I LIKE TO STUDY M.E., IN PART TIME WITH MY GATE MARKS AND MY MARK IS 30. DID I GET GATE STIPHEND AMOUNT

As per the directives of the MHRD, there will be scholarship/assistantship for admission to the postgraduate programmes (Master and Doctoral). The performance of the candidate in GATE will be considered for admission.

- If the candidate is to be selected through interview for postgraduate programmes, minimum 70% weightage is to be given to the performance in GATE.
-The remaining weightage (30% maximum) can be given to the candidate’s academic record or performance in interview.
-Some colleges/institutes specify GATE qualification as the mandatory requirement even for admission without MHRD scholarship/assistantship.
-GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture or Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for admission to Master’s degree programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science with MHRD or other government scholarships/assistantships.

To avail this scholarship, you must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme

Gate Scholarship for M.Tech Students--
-Under this scheme scholarships are provided to GATE qualified ME/M.Tech students and grants are released to a selected number of institutes.
-This scholarship is sanctioned by AICTE based on the budget proposals & Gate Score Cards of scholars by the institute year wise for the AICTE approved courses.

Rate of Scholarship :
Under this scheme scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month will be reimbursed to Gate Qualified candidates

FUND Sanctioned :
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has sanctioned an amount of Rs.10,56,000 /- as Grant in Aid under Scheme of Development of PG Education and Research 2011-12 (1st year).

i am mtech scholar & i was eligible for gate scholarship. after 1st semester my scholarship have been stopped because my cgpa come out below 6.67 but after 2nd sem i have improved my cgpa 6.88 average. after that my scholarship have not been resumed yet. what can i do.. please give information regarding scholarship...

after entering details in gate scholorship student verification step(part-1),data of student should be autofilled byt its not happening to me,my college&my course approved by aicte

sir, i have qualified gate 2015 according to sc category.i want to take admission in m.tech.so from where do i get the gate scholarship application form?

Hi Sir,
I had cleared GATE exam and got PhD admission in university. But I don't know how to reimburse the fellowship amount.

Can you please clarify the procedure carried out post GATE exam. Is that I need to send my appointment letter to IIT-Kharagpur.
