Are MCA students eligible for IES?

I am MCA student; can I apply for the UPSC Indian Engineering Services (IES) Examination??

You can not apply for the Indian Engineering Services (IES), for IES applicants needs to have Bachelors degree in engineering and you have done master in computer application so it is supposed to be that you will not B.Tech Degree.

Here, I am giving you detail about the Examination.

Indian Engineering Services is civil services that manage the technical and managerial operation of the Government of India.

IES exam is conduct by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). following is the eligibility criteria for the exam.

Eligibility:

Nationality:

Must be Indian citizen or
Tibetan refugee or
Indian origin

Age:

Age should be between the 21 year to 30 year, relaxation is given to reserved categories.

Education

Candidate have at least a bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain services / posts only.

Exam Pattern: Exam held in two sections, one is preliminary and second is mains exam.

Paper I (Objective type)
General Ability Test (Part A: General English) (Part B: General Studies)

Papers II & III (Objective type)
Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Papers IV & V (Conventional type)
Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Final selection of the candidate will base on the interview.

Electronics & Communications Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering

Or equivalent degree from recognized universities:

Age Limits:
A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years
