Merchant Navy can be joined after 10th as seafarer after qualifying pre sea courses or after 12th as an officer through various degree or diploma courses in mainly two specialized fields, Nautical (Deck) and Marine engineering.

A pre-sea training program for Diploma Mechanical Engineers to enter into Merchant Navy approved by the Director General of Shipping Government of India.

It provides Ship owners with a ready Marine Engineer.

Program offers students in the theory and practice of marine Engineering and completes workshop training as per the IMO module courses.

Program offers 24 Months Pre-Sea courses for Diploma (Mechanical / Electrical) at the Academy offers comprehensive training in Marine Engineering and Shipboard Practice.

It Constitutes of academics and ship familiarization along with Marine Workshop training

After course applicants undergoes the four basic STCW course.

Diploma holders shall appear & passes Class IV Part A COC.

Diploma holders shall go for 6 months sailing on ship & 3 Months Preparatory course on shore.

After that Diploma holders has to join the shipping company's vessels as Junior Engineers where they undergo further practical training and maintain their TARB

After this Diploma holders goes for this Class IV part B, written & oral examination.

Eligibility :

Applicants must have Minimum 50% marks in English at 10+2 or 10th level is a must.

DIP (Mech./Electrical) With 50% aggregate marks from AICTE approved Universities / Colleges.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Not exceeding 28 years

Maximum power permitted 2.5.No color blindness.

Medically fit with eyesight 6/6, with or without external aids.
