Girls can get some career opportunities in the Indian Air Force as flying officer, aeronautical engineer, fighter controller etc. Girls can apply for various posts available in these branches through short service commission. The eligibility details are as following: Eligibility: Flying Branch The applicant should have completed graduation from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks. Technical Branch You need to complete four year degree course from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks and Pass the Graduate membership examination conducted by the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers Ground Duty Branches The applicant must have any undergraduate degree from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks. |

Girls who have completed Degree in Engineering and want to make career with Indian Air Force, they can apply for following ranks: Ground Duty Branches Technical Branch GROUND DUTY BRANCHES Age - 20 to 26 Years for Graduates and Post Graduates (at the time of commencement of course). Marital Status - Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried. Nationality - Indian Gender - Both men and women. Technical Branch Age - 20 to 26 years (at the time of commencement of course) Nationality - Indian Marital Status - Candidates below the age of 25 years should be unmarried Gender - Both men and women. Entry in Technical Branch will be through 2 schemes: UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME (UES) AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING COURSE UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME (UES) For candidates studying in Pre-Final year of B-tech/BE degree course For men only. Grant of Permanent Commission Advertisement Schedule: December every year (through AFCAT) AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING COURSE After completion of Engineering degree or while in your final year/semester of Engineering For both Men and Women Permanent Commission (for men) / Short Service Commission (For men and women) Marks - Must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate Advertisement Schedule - Advertisements for AFCAT are released by the IAF in the months of June and December.

There are several career opportunities in the Indian Air Force for girls like flying officer, aeronautical engineer, fighter controller etc. There are 3 branches in Indian Air Force such as flying branch, technical branch and ground duty branches. Girls can through short service commission. Eligibility requirements for girls to apply in Indian Air Force Flying Branch – Female candidates can apply for position of pilot through Short Service Commission. One should have completed graduation from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks. They can have an undergraduate degree in any stream. But they must have studied physics and mathematics during the senior secondary level. Final year students can apply only if they possess 60% aggregate up to the current semester without any backlogs. Technical Branch – Female candidates can apply for the post of Aeronautical Engineer in Electronics stream. They must possess any of the educational qualification mentioned below: • Pass the section A and B exam conducted by the Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) • Pass the section A and B exam conducted by the Aeronautical Society of India • Complete four year degree course from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks • Pass the Graduate membership exam conducted by the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers Ground Duty Branches- The post of Fighter Controller in Ground Duty Branch is open to the Female candidates. Eligibility required for that are: Female candidates can look for the officer post in the Meteorology Branch. Eligibility required for that are: Postgraduate degree in any stream related to Science/Geography/Computer Applications /Agricultural Meteorology/Statistics/ Environmental Biology/ Environmental Science /Mathematics/Geo- physics/Applied Physics/Ecology & Environment/Oceanography with minimum of 50% marks. Also, the candidates should have studied Maths and Physics during their graduation. At least 55% mark is required for both the subjects during graduation. Any undergraduate degree from any recognized university with minimum of 60% marks. • Any postgraduate degree / equivalent diploma with minimum of 50% marks One can work as an officer in the Accounts branch as well. Eligibility required for that are: • Bachelor of Commerce degree with minimum of 60% marks • Master of Commerce degree or CA or ICWA with minimum of 60% marks • One can work in logistics department. Eligibility required for that are: Any undergraduate degree with minimum of 60% • Any postgraduate degree or equivalent diploma with minimum of 50% marks Female candidates can pursue their career as an officer in the Education Branch. Eligibility required for that are: • Any postgraduate degree with minimum of 50% marks Expected Remuneration for women Air Force Officers During the last one year of training period, a monthly stipend of Rs.21000 is given to the candidates. After appointed as flying officer, several additional benefits can be enjoyed by candidates as well as their families. Those working in the Flying branch can get a monthly salary of Rs. 60,000/-. The salary given for the officers in technical branch is Rs. 50,000/- while the officers in ground duty can get a salary of Rs. 48,000/-.
