The Government of Andhra Pradesh School Education Department is inviting online applications for AP TET Examination 2012.

Here are the key dates of the exam:

Payment of Fees at AP Online or e-Seva- 21.03.2012 to 11.04.2012

Download of APTET Information Bulletin- 21.03.2012 onwards

Online submission of application through
APTET - 22.03.2012 to 12.04.2012

Help Desk services on all working days 21.03.2012 to 31.05.2012

Receiving of Complaints pertaining to Online application -28.03.2012 to 14.04.2012
Downloading of Hall Tickets 15.05.2012 onwards

Date of Examination - 31.05.2012
Paper-I 9.30 AM to 12.00 Noon
Paper-II 2.30 PM to 05.00 PM

Declaration of Results - Last week of June, 2012.

Teacher Eligibility Test which is also known as TET is an Indian entrance examination for teachers.
The test is obligatory for teachers from Class 1 to Class 8, Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting for Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper 2 for Class 6 to Class 8.
It is conducted by both Central government and State governments in India.
The test is conducted in order fulfill the achieve Right to education goals.

Eligibility Criteria:

The following candidates shall be eligible for appearing in the TET:

Candidate who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notification.

Candidate who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE notification.

The eligibility clause for appearing in TET may be relaxed in respect of a State/UT which has been granted relaxation under sub-section (2) of section 23 of the RTE Act. The relaxation will be specified in the Notification issued by the Central Government under that sub-section.

Frequency of conduct of TET and validity period of TET certificate :

The Government conducts a TET at least once every year.
The validity period of TET qualifying certificate for appointment is decided by the appropriate Government subject to a maximum of seven years for all categories.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a TET Certificate.
Candidate who has qualified TET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
