Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts All India Food Inspector Exam for the recruitment of food inspectors. Following are the details of this examination:

Eligibility:
The applicant should have completed graduation in Agriculture, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Dairy Technology or Veterinary Science with good academic record from any recognized university of India.

Tentative dates:

Opening Date for Online Registration: 22 October 2014
Closing Date for Online Registration: 21 November 2014
Last Date for Receipt of Examination Fees: 18 November 2014
Last Date for Submitting Hard Copy of the Application: 12 December 2014

Age Limit:
You must be in age of 18 to 27 yrears

Age relaxation
Your minimum age should be 18 years.
Your age should not cross above 28 years.
For SC/ST + 5 years
For OBC + 3 years

English Language: 12 Questions
General Knowledge: 25
Questions Mental Ability/ Reasoning: 50
Questions Mathematical Skills: 25
Questions Computer Efficiency: 25
Total Number of Questions: 150


Eligibility Criteria for the Food Inspector Exmination
Eligibility for Food Inspector:-

Age: Candidates aged between 18 and 25 years of age are eligible to apply for the post of Food Inspector.

Educational qualification: Candidates with completed graduation in medicine or have a bachelors degree in agriculture, pharmacy, food technology and dairy technology.

Procedure of Selection:- Candidates will be selected based on performance in written test and interview.

General Knowledge: Current Affairs related to Trade and Economy of India, Indian Political System, Indian Judiciary System, Sports, Culture and Science &
Technology related issues

Verbal Ability: Questions based on Comprehension, Grammar Based Questions, Essay Writing in both the languages – Hindi and English, Vocabulary Test and Sentence Formation

Computer Proficiency: Fundamental Concepts of Computers, Operating System Operations
