In 1831 it is renamed as Corps of Madras Sappers and Miners.

In 1834 MEG relocated its head quarter in Bangalore.

In 1876 it is renamed as Queen’s Own.

In 1903 it is renamed as 2nd Queen's Own Madras Sappers and Miners.

In 1911 again it is renamed as 2nd Queen Victoria's Own Madras Sappers and Miners
