Default AFIH Course in Mumbai

AFIH means Associate Fellow of Industrial Health. This AFIH course in Mumbai us conducted by MCDHC institute and it awards the student with an Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) certificate at the Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health

This course is primarily meant for doctors to prepare them with knowledge in industrial Health, which would enable them to prevent occupational and work related diseases in industry and new frontiers for fresh and young doctors who are aspiring to become industrial medical officers in the near future.

Associate Fellow of Industrial Health Course (AFIH Course) is a 3 month full time program, will provide intensive training for medical professionals to acquire skills for occupational health practice. In Mumbai this three months course is compulsory for all doctors working in industries involving hazardous operations and processes as per the Factories Act, and also as per the Factories Rules of all States in India. The AFIH course in Mumbai will also open up new frontiers for fresh and young doctors who are aspiring to become industrial medical officers in the near future. The AFIH course in Mumbai is administered by The Department of Environmental Health Engineering, Micro Care Diagnostic & Health Center with faculty who are well recognized for research and training at the national and international levels. Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate by "ASSOCIATE FELLOW OF INDUSTRIAL HEALTH" which will fulfill the requirements in terms of additional qualification of Factory Medical Officers.

This program consists of the following course content:

A. various theoretical aspects related to the Occupational health and Industrial Medicine Practice.
B. the program also includes theory classes other than the Practical Classes, Clinical Training, Educational Tours, Project Works and Group Discussion.
Theoretical inputs will cover the following areas:
Occupational health , occupational medicine , health promotion, health screening, toxicology, ergonomics, occupational physiology, psycho-social factors in industry, psychological guidance and counseling, legislations in occupational health, communications, productivity and occupational health, training programmes and health education, health information systems surveillance of work
Environment using industrial hygiene methods.

Eligibility:
-The candidate should have MBBS Degree from an Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
- Completion of Internship
- The candidate should have Permanent Registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.

Requirements: Minimum one year experience as a full time Medical Officer in Occupational Health related work in an industry on full time basis or 2 years in general practice after the date of completion of internship.

You want to know about AFIH course so AFIH stands for Associate Fellow of Industrial Health. It is 3 month full time course. This program is for medical professionals which provide intensive training to acquire skills for occupational health practice, it is also useful for doctors to prepare them with knowledge in Occupational Health.
