The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2011) is an All India Entrance Examination carried on by eleven National Law Universities for admissions to their Bachelor of Law and Master of Law degree admission. CLAT was conceived and carried out pursuant to a case registered at the Supreme Court of India highlighting the hardships of scholars who would have to look for several separate entrance examinations. CLAT 2011 admission eligibility for undergraduate Bachelor of Law degree candidate should have 12th passed with 50% Mark from any recognized Board, and master degree admission candidate should have Bachelor of Law for any recognized University. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by the fourteen National Law Universities (NLU) for admission to Under graduate and Post graduate Programmes (BA LL.B & LL.M). CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria: -You should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) -Your age should be below 20 years of age (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates) CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria: - You should have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates) Pattern of CLAT UG paper -Duration of the examination – 2 hours -Total number of MCQ of one mark each – 200 -Total marks for CLAT UG – 200 -There shall be a system of Negative Marking wherein 0.25 marks will be deducted for each of the wrong answers to multiple choice questions. -Higher marks in the section of Legal aptitude. English including comprehension 40 General knowledge/ Current Affairs 50 Elementary Math ( Numerical Ability) 20 Legal aptitude 50 Logical reasoning 40 Pattern of CLAT PG paper: -Total marks 150 -Duration of the exam 2 hours -Long essay type descriptive questions (covering Constitutional law & jurisprudence) 100 marks ( 4 questions of 25 marks each) - Multiple choice questions (covering all compulsory law subjects prescribed by BCI for UG course except Constitutional Law & Jurisprudence). 50 marks ( 50 questions of 1 mark each)
