Known as the cradle of Space Sciences in India, the Physical Research Laboratory ( PRL ) was founded in 1947 by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. As a unit of Department of Space, Government of India, PRL carries out fundamental research in selected areas of Physics, Space & Atmospheric Sciences, Astronomy, Astrophysics & Solar Physics, and Planetary & Geo-Sciences. UN Course on Space and Atmospheric Science A nine-month Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Space and Atmospheric Science is conducted every alternate year at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad under the auspices of Center for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (CSSTEAP), affiliated to the United Nations. Course Duration: August 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021 Last date for Receipt of Applications: Extended to May 30, 2020 Applications are invited for the next course which will begin on August 1, 2020.
