Here is the syllabus of the TIFR Entrance For Phd chemistry:

The syllabus for the Written test in Chemistry is similar to the typical standard syllabus
followed in any Indian university for the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree course. The questions
are aimed at testing the basic understanding and knowledge in the areas of physical,
organic, inorganic, analytical, electro and quantum chemistry, biophysics,
thermodynamics, spectroscopy (NMR, fluorescence, IR, UV and X-ray), logic and
statistics and mathematical methods.

CHEMICAL SCIENCES
SYLLABUS

The syllabus for the Written test in Chemistry is similar to the typical standard syllabus

SAMPLE QUESTIONS
(NOTE: Wrong answers will get you negative marks)
1. In a magnetic field of 1.17 Tesla, a proton absorbs energy at a frequency of 50
MHz. For the same field, an electron absorbs at a frequency of:

Hello, TCIS known as (Tata Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences) of TIFR or (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) located in Hyderabad invites applications for summer admissions to its PhD and Integrated PhD degree Programmes for 2014 session.

Eligibility:

Under the Physics Subject Board::
For Ph.D:-
You must have done M.Sc. in Physics / B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech.
or
Equivalent science / engineering / medical degree that require 4 or more years of University Training.

In addition you must have qualified in any of the following examinations:-
The written test of TIFR, GATE / JEST / CSIR UGC NET (JRF eligible).

Chemistry (Ph.D. programme):-
For Ph.D. programme: you must have M.Sc. in Chemistry, B.E., B.Tech., M.Tech., B.Pharm., M.Pharm.

In addition you must have qualified in any of the following examinations:
The written test of TIFR , GATE / CSIR UGC NET (JRF eligible).
