I am not getting the information regarding to the recognition of the institute on to the official website. But the information I am getting is that the Institute was fortunate from the Government of India and the government of Uttar Pradesh and now the Government of Uttaranchal. The proposal for the institute was mooted by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1964.
