As per me there is no any examination conducted to be Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) post , here I am giving bellow eligibility to be Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) :

There are three ways to become a DSP in state Police force.

Passing the Civil Services Exam by UPSC and choose IPS.

Passing the State public services commission exam by state public service commission and choose police service. (E.g. in West Bengal State the Exam is called WBCS exam and Police service is called WBPS (Or WBCS Gr B) service.

Appointment by Promotion by state government from police Inspector rank.

Education qualification
Graduation in any stream by an UGC approved college

Age - 21 to 37 (General Candidate)

Height - 167 cm

Extra qualification (personal opinion): 1)Patriotism 2) Degree in Criminal Justice is preferred

Civil Service examination is conducted every year by UPSC(union public service commission).
1. Preliminary examination-conducted during the second half of may.
The preliminary exam is followed by the main examination and interview.
2. Main examination- conducted during the month of oct/nov
3. Interview (for those who passed the main examination)


Preliminary exam syllabus:
General Studies 150 marks
Optional Subject 300 marks
All the questions will be of objective type and list of optional subjects are as follows:
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology, Indian History, Law, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology.

Main exam syllabus:
Compulsary subjects- One Indian language - 300 marks
English - 300 marks
Essay - 200 marks
General Studies -300 marks
Optional subject- Any two of the optional subjects -300 marks
