The MMID is Mobile Money Identification Number (MMID).

MMID is a 7 digit number allotted by your Bank for receiving funds through Immediate Payment Service IMPS.

The bank will allot MMID when you register your mobile number and account number in which you wish to receive funds.

If you have more than one account, you will get a separate MMID for each account.

You have to share your mobile number and MMID with the remitter for receiving funds through IMPS.

How to get MMID?

If you are registered for Mobile Banking Service, MMID will be allotted for the Primary account enabled for Mobile Banking Service.

For obtaining MMID in for other accounts, please generate either through State Bank Freedom application “Requests > Generate MMID”

(OR) for SMS banking customers send SMS “MMID UserID” to 9223440000.

If you are not registered for Mobile Banking Service, You can also generate MMID for all your accounts by sending SMS “MMID <11 digit Account number>” to 9223440000 to Generate MMID. Bank Codes can be SBI, SBBJ, SBH, SBM, SBP and SBT.

Need of MMID number-

When someone sends you money through IMPS using your mobile number and MMID, your account is identified by the MMID and Mobile number combination.

Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) is an instant interbank electronic fund transfer service through mobile phones. It is also being extended through other channels such as ATM, Internet Banking, etc.
