When the admission process at GLC Mumbai for 2012 is going to start? From where can I donwlado the application form? What is the duration of B.Ed. from GLC Mumbai?

The Government Law College, founded in 1855, is the oldest law school in Asia dating even prior to the University of Mumbai,

1. Postgraduate Diploma Course in Securities Law
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights
3. Diploma in Cyber Law
4. Post Graduate Certificate Course in Human Rights

Admission to the Three Year Law Course
You have to passing the H.S.C (10+2) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, with minimum 45% marks.

Total seats available for 1st Year of B.L.S.L.L.B (Five Year Law Course)
2 divisions aided 160
1 division unaided 80


Total seats available for 1st Year of L.L.B (Three Years Law Course)
4 divisions aided 320

50% Reserved Category from Maharashtra as per the G.R.

Admission in 3 Year Law Course offered by GLC (Government Law College), Mumbai is open to candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree from any faculty of the University of Mumbai or an equivalent degree from any other University.

It is a six semesters, full time course. On completion of the three year course, i.e., after the 6th semester, the LL.B. degree is awarded. Students who desire to study the law, but do not wish to practice as advocates are eligible for the LL.B. (General) Degree, at the end of the 2nd year i.e. after the 4th semester.


Eligibility Criterion for Three Year Degree Course (LL.B.-3 Yrs.):-

(1) Maharashtra State Candidature:––

(a) A Graduate or Postgraduate candidate in any faculty of any University in Maharashtra established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent National Institution in Maharashtra recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University in Maharashtra recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence; and

Type of Maharashtra State Candidature

Type - A
One who is Domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra, or
Type - B
The Father or Mother of one is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra, or
Type - C
The Father or Mother of one is an Employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking who is posted and reported to duty in the Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for CAP, or
Type - D
The Father or Mother of one is an employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking, or
Type - E
One passing SSC and or HSC Examination or Equivalent Exam from a recognized Institution from a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

(2) All India Candidature: -

One having Indian Nationality is eligible under this Category.


(3) Minority Candidature :-

The Maharashtra domiciled one belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from within the State and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.


(4) NRI Candidature :-

One who fulfils the conditions as defined in clause (n) of section 2 of the Act is eligible under this Category.


(5) Foreign Student or OCI or PIO Candidature :-

The Foreign Student Candidates, as defined in clause (i) of section 2 of the Act, the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Candidate, as defined under clause (n) of rule 2 and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) as defined in clause (o) of section 2 of the Act are eligible under this Category.


(6) Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature.—

(a) The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities; or
(b) The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to battle terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission; or
(c) The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in battling terrorism; are eligible under this category.


Age Limit: -

There is no upper age limit at present for admission to LLB-3 Yrs.
