Shaastra is the annual technical festival of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai, India.

Shaastra 2017 was conducted from 31st December 2016 to 3rd January 2017.

The theme for Shaastra 2017 was 'Augment'.

Some eye-catching events conducted as a part of Shaastra 2017 were:

Accessibility Summit:
The headliner for Shaastra 2017, the Accessibility Summit consisted events such as a hackathon for the blind.

SYNK Social Campaign:
The social campaign of Shaastra 2017 was an initiative to reuse plastic PET bottles as building blocks for various structures. More than 10,000 PET bottles were collected and used for building benches and toilets. Sanitation Awareness lectures were also conducted.

Night Drone Racing Show:
For the first time in India, a Night Drone Show was conducted by Shaastra in association with IDRL (Indian Drone Racing League).

Shaastra Solutions:
Solutions acted as a link between industry and academia to provide various project for students to work on.
