The University of Washington Police Department aspires to be a world leader in innovative campus public safety practices. Its commitment to excellence supports the campus community’s pursuit of academic and research goals in an environment free of crime and the fear of crime. Jurisdiction Geographical Boundaries The University of Washington Police Department (UWPD) exercises primary policing responsibility over the grounds of the University of Washington that are part of the University Major Institutional Boundaries (MIB). Buildings & Areas The following buildings and parking areas are not located on main campus but are the primary jurisdiction of the UWPD: • Cedar Apartments East and West – 1128 NE 41st St. • Creative Communications – 3901 7th Ave NE • Northlake Building – 814 NE Northlake Place • Eagleson Hall – 1417 NE 42nd Street • Social Work/Speech and Hearing Bldg – 4101 15th Ave NE • Plant Services – 4515 25th Ave NE • Benjamin Hall – 670 NE Northlake Place • Communications & Computing – 4545 15th Ave NE • UW Tower – 4333 Brooklyn Ave NE • UW Tower Bldg A – 4328 Brooklyn Ave NE • Collegiana Building – 4311 12th Ave NE • Roosevelt Commons – 4311 11th Ave NE • Roosevelt I Building – 4225 Roosevelt Way NE • Roosevelt II Building – 4245 Roosevelt Way NE • Parking Areas: H5, W2, W20-23, W40, W44, W45, W46, W51 and N28 The following off-campus housing areas, including all University buildings, common areas and parking areas are under the UWPD jurisdiction: • Blakeley Village – 4747 30th Ave NE • Laurel Village – 4200 Mary Gates Memorial Drive • 2104 House – 2104 NE 45th Street • Nordheim Court – 5000 25th Ave NE • Commodore Duchess Apartments – 4009 15th Ave NE Geographical Jurisdiction University of Washington Police Department ![]() ![]()
