The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), set up by an Act of Parliament, was established in 1958, at Powai, a northern suburb of Mumbai.

About IIT Bombay Tansa House:

Tansa House is a residential premises present within the IIT Bombay campus managed and run by the Industrial Research and Consultancy Center (IRCC) which governs all the R&D activities and sponsored projects in all the departments.

Tansa is a rich blend of intellects coming from various parts of India and thus celebration mode persists round the year. The residents herein are popularly known as 'Tansaite'.

Tansaites, are the core people who take research at IIT Bombay to high levels and work on different reputed projects funded by Governments, its subsidiary organizations and some eminent corporates MNCs too.

The admission to its various undergraduate and graduate programs is competitive and can be achieved through one of the following Tests:

JEE
GATE/CEED/JMET

JAM The admissions to the Undergraduate Programs at these institutions for all Indian and Foreign nationals are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

Admission to Post Graduate Programs is done through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) which is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country
