ICSI is abbreviation of Institute of Company Secretaries of India which was founded under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of 1980). In India, it is the only accredited professional organization which improves and governs the profession of Company Secretaries in India. ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) grants the certificate of bestowing the designation of Company Secretary (CS) to a candidate qualifying for the membership of the Institute.
