Can you tell me what is the exam fee for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship or NMMS Exam as my son will be giving the exam this time so want to know about it?

National Means Cum Merit Scholarship or NMMS Exam is sponsored by Central Government and is conducted by the local educational authority to award (Scholarship amount is proposed to be Rs.6000 per annum @Rs.500 per month.) 1, 00,000 scholarships (from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of 4 years) to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs.1, 50,000 per annum from all sources NMMS Application form and Process • One can apply for the NMMSS 2016-17 on the official website of SCERT of their respective States. There is no individual application procedure. • One does not have to pay any Examination Fee. • The NMMS application form has to be sent in triplicate on an A-4 Size Paper. The completed application form duly signed by Principal of the school should be submitted to the State Liaison Officer before the last date. • Make sure to attach the attested copy of Caste Certificate/ Category Certificate issued by the competent authority. NMMS Exam Eligibility These scholarships are provided quarterly to the students studying as regular students in class IX in government, local body and government-aided schools. NMMS Selection Process Each State/UT conducts their own test for selection of students but it is mandatory for students to pass both the tests i.e. MAT and SAT with minimum 40% marks in each. For the reserved category, this cut off will be 32% marks. The State Level Examination may consist of the following two tests. Mental Ability Test: Questions are based on verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities like reasoning and critical thinking. The questions in the scholarship test may be on analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc. Scholastic Aptitude Test: Questions are based on science, social studies and mathematics as taught in classes VII and VIII. • Duration of the Test: 90 minutes Each • No. of Questions: 90 Each • Marks: 90 Each • Each question carries one mark. No negative marking • Candidates have to mark their answer using PEN only • Extra time will be given to the candidate with physical disabilities.
