The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

The university was founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore.

The University, since then, has gone through different phases of development. Started with just two faculties, namely Arts and Science offering BA, BSc, BCom and BT courses, the University added Engineering faculty in 1917, MA programs at Maharaja's College, Mysore
