Hello I am interested in knowing about the news of University Grants Commission show caused notice to ELIM University to shut its operation?

The Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM) has at last been closed down. EIILM was built up in Sikkim in 2006 and began to slow down in February after the UGC trained them to close shop. The University Grants Commission sent them a notification in August 2013 to "quickly stop" all separation training courses which were running without UGC's endorsement.

UGC, in its letter to the EIILM bad habit chancellor, had said, "It has gone to the notification of UGC that EIILM University is leading different specialized and general courses under separation mode and normal mode through its study focuses, off-grounds focuses, seaward grounds focuses and franchisee focuses without the endorsement of UGC and Distance Education Council (DEC)."

The varsity was blamed for offering degrees to understudies. EILLM proprietor Vinay Kumar Rai was captured from Bagdogra air terminal on May 7, 2013. The bad habit chancellor O B Vijayan, recorder Alok Bhandari and controller of examinations V Dahiya were captured on the college grounds at Jorethang in Sikkim. The Enforcement Directorate's (ED) discoveries as per PTI sources expressed that the EIILM University had earned Rs 110 Crore by issuing fake degrees.

An ED official told an every day, "Resources worth Rs 110 crore for the sake of the college and others have been joined under government evasion laws. The instructive organization was hoodwinking understudies by offering degrees and declarations infringing upon UGC rules. There were various protests against the deceitful practices of the college."
