The Department of Earth Sciences at IIT Bombay is launching a new academic programme leading to M. Tech. Petroleum Geoscience . It will start from the academic year July 2007. IIT-Bombay Petroleum Geoscience Programme are: Advanced geoscience skills in petroleum exploration, particularly in seismic interpretation, basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, reservoir sedimentology, petrophysics and wireline logging tools and data interpretation, using workstations and relevant software as used in the industry. Extensive exposure to state-of-the-art technology tools and software Training at selected oil companies A 1 year project supervised by IIT-B faculty and professionals from oil industry Eligibility: Candidates must have passed M.Sc. (Geology / Applied Geology / Geophysics / Applied Geophysics) and Valid GATE Score FROM Recognized University . The Department supports well equipped laboratories that aids in teaching and research activities.
