The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme is introducing by The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is an Indian government ministry charged with health policy in India. The National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme is the national level Technical Nodal office equipped with Technical Experts in the field of Public Health, Entomology, Toxicology and parasitology aspects of malaria. Its District Malaria Offices have been established under District Chief Medical and Health Offices by the states. There are 22,975 Primary Health Centres functioning in the country. Further, at the peripheral level, there are 1,37,271 Sub-centres. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) established Malaria Research Centre (MRC) in 1977.
