National Workshop cum Training Program on Applications of Bioinformatics in Forestry Organised is the three days National Workshop cum training program on Applications of Bioinformatics in forestry will make participants aware how to develop various biodiversity databases and other bioinformatics methods on computer.

The Workshop was organised on March 27-29, 2014

The workshop was

-Bioinformatics / Biodiversity informatics overview with basic concept.

-Tools of Bioinformatics, Sequence retrieving from NCBI, Analysis of desired Sequence, sequence alignment via BLAST

-How to analyse genome via bioinformatics

-Introduction of plants miRNA via mirBASE

-Sequence retrieving from mirbase Target identification as gene via Diana tar and other online available software’s

-Genetics & tree propagation techniques

-Biological collections database & digitization tools & techniques

-Information retrieval and hands on‐sessions on various topics of bioinformatics.


Eligibility Criteria:
Ph.D. scholars / M.Sc all fields related to life science or Engineering students working in areas of life sciences / bioinformatics interested in the above mentioned areas and want to apply these approaches to their work.
