Hey!! M.E. program of Indian Institute of Science is a mainly course based Masters. There is also a project with substantial credits that needs to be completed. On the courses side, a set of compulsory core courses covering the broad areas of Mechanical Engineering are required followed by a number of elective As per my knowledge the Number of Seats available for this Program is 30 Duration of the M. E. program Admissions formalities are completed during May-June and the course starts by the first of August. The program duration is 2 years. Eligibility Criteria: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology are admitted to the course through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Financial Aid All students registered for the M. E. programme get a financial assistance of Rs. 8,000/- per month. In exceptional cases, based on the performance in course work and an evaluation by a specially appointed committee, students in the M.E. programme can convert their registration to Ph.D. before completing their M.E.
