The MBA program of Southern Cross University focuses on the development of key attributes and skills of senior and middle managers in public and private sector organisations.

The program is designed to build your individual management skills with a focus on the application of knowledge in business organisations.

Program Specialisations:
Accounting, Business Analysis, Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Systems Management, International Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Management, Health Services Management, Sport Management, Research Project, Action Research and Evaluation

Total Units: 5 Core, plus 7 Elective or 3 Elective and 1 four-unit specialisation

Entry Requirements:

Selection of MBA candidates is not based solely on academic criteria. Applications for admission to the MBA will be considered on their merit.

Applicants for admission to the MBA shall have:

- fulfilled all the requirements for admission to a degree or equivalent qualification at this or another acceptable university or tertiary institution, and evidence of at least one year's relevant professional experience

OR

- have demonstrated academic or professional standing considered by this University to be equivalent to the above,

- English language proficiency,

- any other evidence of aptitude necessary to succeed in the program e.g. references, awards, social or business achievements.

Applicants without an undergraduate degree, who meet the admission criteria, will be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Business

Administration stage of the MBA program. On successful completion of four units they can then progress to the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and then to the MBA.


Core Units:
processes of management, accounting and finance for managers, marketing management, management information systems, strategic management in the global context

Elective Units:
concepts of entrepreneurship, contemporary trends in the business environment, e-commerce for managers, economics for management, global marketing communications, human resource management, industry based project, international management, leadership in the diverse organisation, legal studies, operations and quality management, organisational behaviour, project organisation and management, quantitative analytic techniques for management, corporation and securities law

Application Deadline:
Trimester A close on 30 November of the previous year, Trimester B close on 31 March, Trimester C close on 31 July.
