Career counsellor:
Career Counseling is a process that will help you to know and understand yourself and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions. Career development is more than just deciding on a major and what job you want to get when you graduate.

Work details:
Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health
Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide
Work with families
Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences
Take a holistic (mind and body) approach to mental health care
Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight
Develop therapeutic processes
Refer clients to psychologists and other services

SALARY & BENEFITS
Annual salaries for counsellors in the early stages of their careers range from £19,000 to £27,000. Senior counsellors with a wealth of experience, however, can earn up to £42,000 and beyond.
