Joint Admission Test (JAM) is an all India admission test conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development. This test enables a candidate to get admission into M.Sc programme, joint PhD dual degree, and other post B.Sc programmes at various IITs. Educational qualification Usually the candidates who have appeared or are due to appear for their degree exams are eligible to appear for JAM and a minimum of 55% marks is termed as compulsory. Exam pattern: JAM IIT question papers are descriptive or objective in nature based on the subjects one chooses. IIT JAM comprises eight subjects: -Mathematical Statistics -Mathematics -Chemistry -Geophysics -Geology -Physics -Biotechnology -Computer Applications Here I am providing you some preparation tips for this Examination: -create a timetable with distribution of subjects. It will help you to study the different subjects according to the marks. If the distribution is not prepared, then you usually end up learning random topics, which may lead to confusion at the end. -Stick to it. No excuse. Nothing. -Take a standard book which is not so hard or not so easy. Average but most importantly in the trend -Meticulous study is the correct approach that can help you resolve all your doubts and attain lucid perception of various theories, concepts and their uses regarding the syllabus. -Try to solve as many as mock test papers & previous year’s papers as it will give you a clear idea about the difficulty level, pattern, & how to allot minimum time to solve particular type of questions. This will help you know yourself, your capabilities & the field in which you are lagging. -Reference books are the best buy for the examination as they give a good idea, covering the complete syllabus, sample question papers and solved papers, as well. -Don’t take any stress, eat well & try to sleep at fixed time and for at least 6 to 7 hours a day during your preparation.
