CDS stands – Combined Defense Service Examination

This exam is conducted by the UPSC. There fore This exam is also called as the UPSC CDS exam.

The candidates who wish to join the Indian defense fields like Navy, Air force and Army after the graduation such candidates should clear CDS exam.

The graduates can apply for this exam after the completing the graduation from he recognized college or University

Education Qualification-

Must complete graduation from the recognized college or University. If you want to join the Indian Navy, Air force then you must complete +12 lavel with Mathematics and Physics otherwise If you completed the graduation any discipline then you are only eligible for the army

In the Graduation you should have minimum 60% aggregate including all papers.

Age Limit-

Indian Navy – 19-22 years
Indian Air force – 19-23 years
Indian Military – 19-24 years
Officer Training Academy – 19-24 years

Nationality-

Should be Indian Citizen

Martial status

You should be Single

Selection Process

Written Exam
Interview
Medical Examination

Written exam Syllabus and Exam format

English – 100 marks
General Knowledge – 100 marks
Elementary Mathematics – 100 marks
The candidates who will clear the written exam then such candidates are eligible for the Interview.
The Interview is conducted by the SSB at Bhopal, Bangalore and Allahabad
Interview duration is five days

Medical Examination

The candidates who will clear alt the tests in the Interview then such candidates are called for the Medical Examination. You should not have any physical defects and diseases.

Code Educational qualification-

Codes prescribed for educational qualification are as follows :

01 Passed/appeared/appearing the final year degree or equivalent examination (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level).

02 Passed/appeared/appearing the final year of Engineering degree examination.

03 Passed/appeared/appearing the final year degree or equivalent examination with other subjects (i.e. other than those mentioned against 01 and 02 above).
