JEXPO officially known as Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics admission is a state level entrance exam conducted by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE) each year in the month of April for granting admission into three years Diploma in Engineering programmes in different Government Polytechnics situated across West Bengal. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be Indian citizen Candidate age should not be exceeded than 21 years at the time of admission. There will be three years relaxation in upper age for SC/ST category. Applicant must have done Matriculation or 10th with Physical Science, Mathematics, & English from Central or State Board recognized by Government. Exam pattern JEXPO will comprise two question papers with a total of 200 marks each with 120 minutes of duration. Paper 1 will contains questions from Mathematics and paper (2) will be include questions from Physics and chemistry Syllabus: Physics Modern Physics; Current Electricty and Electromagnetism; Light: Lens and Dispersion; Heat; Simple weight-weight calculation using chemical equation; Avogadro’s Law; Properties of gases-pressure and temperature; Structure of Atom; Sound; Light; Work; Power; Energy; Newton’s Laws of Motion; Displacement, Speed, velocity and Acceleration; Rest and Motion; Change of state; Matter and Energy; System of measurements and Measuring devices Chemistry Organic chemistry: Details of organic chemistry, Alkane, Alkene, Alkyne, Monomer and polymer; Some metals: Aluminum, magnesium, zink,iron and copper; important substances and its uses; HCl, Nitric acid and Sulfuric acid; Electronic theory of Oxidation and reduction; Chemical Bonding; Periodic Table; Fuel (Carbonaceous); Water, Nitrogen, Ammonia, Carbon; Oxides, acids, base and salts; Oxygen; Chemical reaction and chemical equation; Solution; Separation of Mixtures; Physical and chemical change; Identification of matter : Physical and Chemical properties. Mathematics Algebra, Arithmetic, Mensuration, Geometry, Trignometry etc Important Dates: Official Notification will be released on- 8th February, 2016 Sale of application form from the polytechnics begin: 15th February, 2016 Sale of application form from the polytechnics ends: 21st March, 2016 End date for submit the application form: December 2015 JEXPO 2016 exam date: April 2016 JEXPO 2016 Result date – Second week of June 2016
