Default Re: M.Tech or MBA after B.Tech

It is common knowledge that both the options M.Tech and MBA offer good placements and stable career with good growth prospects.

M.Tech or MBA after B.Tech

Choosing one of the options should be well calculated to suit the goals/ aspirations of the candidates in question.

MBA is primarily for the management skills needed to prepare for generalist roles in various non technical industries

On the other hand, an M.Tech offers good opportunities to take the technical qualifications to the next level thereby preparing the candidates for a sound and technologically strong career.

The decision of the post graduate qualifications is highly dependent on the end-goals of the candidates.

While MBA opens up avenues like consultancy, finance, banking and similar fields which are not driven technologically.

M.Tech candidates can get into technical fields as well as academic, research & development areas.

Current trends show a preference of MBA over M.Tech by many of the engineering graduates.

Many students feel that the advantage with an MBA is the wide range of opportunities in addition to a promising foundation for their career.

It is also known that the difficulty levels and rigours are lesser with MBA degrees as compared to M.Tech.

A myth that exists amongst the students is that the government jobs for M.Tech graduates do not pay well.

M.Tech graduates are in high demand not just within the country but abroad too.

It is a fact that technically qualified people are required in all areas and many organizations as well as the government will pay well for the right kind of qualified persons.

M.Tech candidates will also have a good career growth with seniority in technical qualifications and experience.

So its all up to you which course you should go for. If you are technically sound then you should go for M.Tech but if you want to prefer management then go for MBA.
