B.A. (Hons) course is available in Banaras Hindu University and admission will be based on Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test (BHU UET). BHU Application Fees for B.A.(Hons) BHU UET Application Fees for General Category: Rs 500 BHU UET Application Fees for Reserved Category: Rs 250 If one makes application for more than one course under UET, the Application Processing Fee/Entrance Test Fee payable by them for each subsequent application is charged as follows: Courses SC/ST Entrance Fee Others Entrance Fee All Courses Rs 100 Rs 200 BHU Exam Pattern • Duration: 2 hours duration. • Total Marks: 450 • Total Questions: 150 MCQ's • It will consist of two sets of multiple choice questions on Language comprehension, one each in Hindi and English, where the candidate is required to answer either the Hindi language set or the English language set but not both. • Standard: The standard of the question paper will be of Class 12 Exam or equivalent. • Questions are based on General Awareness, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Basic knowledge of Plants & Animals, Environment & its Pollution, Human Body, Human Health, Common Diseases, Population Explosion, Production of Food & Raw Materials, Solar System, Climate & Weather, Natural Resources of Industry, History, Indian cultural heritage with special focus on major currents in Indian Thoughts, literature and art. Each question carries 3 marks and for each wrong answer one mark is deducted while the unattempted question are awarded zero mark. BHU Eligibility Criteria for B.A. (Hons) • Candidate must have passed Class 12 /Intermediate examination or any other equivalent examination recognized by the University. o Candidates appearing at the qualifying exam can also apply. Minimum Qualifying Marks • The candidate must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate • For SC/ST candidates, there will be no minimum aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination except that they must have passed the qualifying examination. • For OBC and PC candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. Age: • Candidate should not be more than 22 years • For SC/ST and PC categories there is a relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit. • For OBC category there is a relaxation of 3 years in upper age limit.
