As you are looking to get the details of the professor Jayanta Mukhopadhyay of the Bose Institute so here is some information about him that can help you- Jayanta Mukhopadhyay Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry Ph.D (Biochemistry & Biophysics), Jadavpur University, 2000 Research interest of the professor of the institute Transcription is the first step in gene expression where most regulation occurs. RNAP core enzyme together with sigma factor(s) and/or numerous regulator(s) orchestrates the gene expression in bacteria. The lab of the institute seeks to characterize the interactions among RNAP, sigma factors, and regulators required for various gene expressions in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The proposed work of the professor will use integrated biophysical, biochemical and genetic approaches, along with a recombinant in vitro transcription system to address two specific aims: 1. Determine the role of alternative sigma factors in gene regulation of M. tuberculosis 2. Identify and characterize inhibitors of M. tuberculosis gene expression. Relevant publications by the professor at the institute Mukhopadhyay J, Das K, Ismail S, Koppstein D, Jang M, Sarafianos St, Tuske S, Hudson B, Patel J, Jansen R, Höfle G, Arnold E, and Ebright RH (2008).
