What are the minimum marks required in each subject to pass CPT Exam????

Passing criteria at all level of the CA examination like CPT, IPC and Final has been changed to 55% marks in aggregate and 45% for individual subjects.

How this change going to affect

Individual passing % in CPT will be increased from 30% to 45% and aggregate form 50% to 55%. This has to result in bringing down the overall result of CPT which has been quite high since the beginning at shut to 30%.
This again would result in bringing down the existing result % of IPCC and Final.
One major impact of fall in result will be the reduction in no. of students finally passing the CA examination. This in twist may prove helpful in increasing the placement % which has seen a huge fall in in recent placement programs.

ICAI has proposed CA CPT Passing marks rule along-with CPT exemption rule for graduates. This proposal was accepted by Govt. of India

Minimum Passing Mark required in each subject
-Minimum of 30% marks in each of the four sections/subjects.
-Minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all the sections/subjects
-Students appearing in CA CPT June 2014 exam will have to get 100 marks with 30% at least in each of the sections/subjects to crack the CPT exam.
-¼ (one fourth) mark shall continue to be deducted for each wrong answer and multiple darkened circles for a question will also be treated as wrong answer.

Accordingly, the minimum marks required in each section and in the aggregate in all sections of CPT as per the revised passing requirements will be as under:-
Max Marks Min Marks

Fundamentals of Accounting 60 18
Mercantile Laws 40 12
General Economics 50 15
Quantitative Aptitude 50 15
Total 200 100
