The Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai is the supreme authority for admission to First Year Engineering in the colleges of the state of Maharashtra.

The candidates who are aspiring to join the courses of engineering in the state have to prepare for the All India JEE Main (Paper 1). The Score of JEE Main (Paper 1) and HSC Marks ( as per the Government Resolution of the state on Dt. 31 Oct 2012)will be considered for granting the admission to the colleges of engineering.

This process is called the centralized admission process(CAP) of admission to here are some of the other details-

Two separate processes CAP one for non-autonomous institutes) & other CAPAI for the autonomous institutes is now merged to form the single Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

Number of CAP Rounds has been reduced to a total of 3 CAP Rounds for the students.
