M.E is the master’s degree in Engineering whereas M.tech is the Master's degree in Technology. Both provide excellent job opportunities and are considered equivalent to each other in the present era. There is no major difference in both. M Tech or Master in Technology is a superior Engineering Degree as compared to M E or Masters in Engineering as it was started by IITs for producing Research Engineers who can get the position of "Technologist" in the Industries and Research Institutes in India both. Previously some universities gave ME as Master in engineering and some other universities gave M.Tech (Master in technology) both post graduate degrees in engineering. Initially IITs gave B.Tech and M.Tech. Now every University gives that.
