MMST Entrance Exam for Admission in IIT Kharagpur

Please provide me the details of Masters in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) programme which is offered by IIT Kharagpur. I have completed MBBS from Tamil Nadu. What are the exam centers for the exam?

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur conducts an entrance examination for its unique 3 year Masters in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) programme. The programme is a unique blend of Technological based education imparted to those candidates that have undertaken their MBBS course.

Eligibility:
The candidate must be MBBS Degree (recognized by Medical Council of India) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having studied mathematics at +2 level (even as additional subject) or from any recognized Open University.

Important dates (tentative):
Dates for Online Application: February 1st week-March 1st week, 2011
Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application Forms: March 3rd week, 2011
admit card starting from 1st April, 2011
Date of Entrance Exam: April 4th week, 2011
Announcement of Results: May 4th week, 2011.

Application forms procedure:
The filling application forms will be sending on the official address with their application fees 1000/- for General Category and 500/- for SC / ST / PD Category with the DD in the favor of the official address. The candidates are advised to retain a Xerox copy of the documents as well as the filled application form.

Paper pattern:
The objective type of written test of 2 hours duration. The candidate needs to answer 120 questions out of which 75 questions are assigned to the MBBS syllabus. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks.
MBBS Syllabus: 75 questions
Maths(+2 level): 15 questions
Physics(+2 level): 15 questions
Chemistry(+2 level): 15 questions

Selection Procedure:
Selection is totally based on Entrance Exam, Personal interview.

You want to know application procedure for MMST Entrance Exam in IIT Kharagpur so here it is:

The only way to apply for MMST 2013 is only by an Online process (internet based) by accessing the website of GATE IITK from 25 January 2013 till 10 March 2013. The candidate should first pay the Application Fee by obtaining a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur on any nationalised bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal because draft details are require while filling up the Online application form. After successful submission of data. The printed form, with candidate's signature and photograph pasted at appropriate place, and the original Demand Draft must be sent by speed post so as to reach by 18 March 2013 to The Chairman, GATE, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur - 721302.

Application Fees
Rs. 1200/- for General Category and Rs. 600/- for SC/ST/PD Category.

Following additional documents should be mailed along with the printed Application Form :

Attested copy of proof of having passed Mathematics at +2 level (even as an additional subject)

Attested copy of OBC (Non-creamy)/SC/ST/PD certificate (if applicable)

Attested copies of MBBS Degree (recognized by MCI) with mark sheet of all years as a proof of obtaining a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.


Admission Test
Entrance should be of objective type to identify the aptitude of the candidates for a program like MMST.

The test is of two hours duration:

Timing of test is between 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon on Sunday, 28 April 2013.

The candidate needs to answer 120 questions out of which 75 questions are assigned to the typical MBBS syllabus.

The remaining questions are equally distributed to cover the syllabi of +2 level Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.

Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries 0.25 negative marks.
